Comfort settings before the rain
Open the options and set difficulty first. Steam’s category list is the evidence, not a leaked slider screenshot: Adjustable Difficulty is a shipping flag, and the store also tags play-at-your-own-pace. That means the park will let you slow the carnival down before the first toy gun fight, not after you have already died to a rotary-phone creature in a tiled hall. Pair that with controller choice. Full controller support is listed, including DualShock and DualSense, so a pad is a first-party path, not a community hack.
Language is not a comfort slider. Steam supported_languages lists English with full audio only. The 2023 pinned FAQ hoped for more localizations later; those languages are not on the shipping store page, so this climb does not pretend a Japanese dub exists. If you need subtitles or interface language beyond what Steam shows, wait for a patch note — day-one news is about 1.0.3 stability, not new voice packs.
Four holes the park actually tracks
First Foe (ACH_KILL_FIRST_ENEMY) sits at 100% global unlock. Wallop your first foe and the card punches. First Floor Frolic (ACH_GET_TO_FIRST_FLOOR) is 93%: ascend to the first floor, where the real funhouse begins. Together those two holes say the opening is a lobby-to-first-floor move, not a ten-hour prologue. Harpoon Hero (ACH_GET_GRAPPLE) is 49.8% — snatch that handy Harpoon — so the grapple is a mid-climb gadget for about half of Steam’s tracked players, not a starting tool.
The fourth hole is not an achievement. It is the difficulty setting itself. Stamp it when you have actually opened the menu and picked a pace. The punch card stores first-foe, first-floor, harpoon, and difficulty in localStorage so a reload keeps the holes. Percentages are Steam global stats from the sealed capture, not a prediction of your run. Gadget order beyond those percents is not in a design doc; later Fairy Wings (27.7%), Bouncy Boots (17.6%), Slide (13.4%), and Twisted Jet Pack (11.6%) live on Carnival Gadgets.
Demo 2506090 is historical
On 12 February 2025 Steam News said the Twisted Tower demo was live. That SKU is app 2506090, sold during Steam Next Fest, with Thomas Brush’s demo trailer (sjgq8mKLl90) as the first-party clip. After the 2026 1.0 launch, a store appdetails call for 2506090 returns success=false. Treat any leftover demo build on disk as a preview of the hotel and toys, not as the shipping 1.0.3 branch. Playtest app 4806470 is a separate June 2026 SKU listed on the PC ticket.
VICE covered the demo as a watch/play event; that is reporting, not a second official tutorial. Reddit genre talk is community color and is not a control scheme. If a demo save does not import, that absence is unpublished — this page does not invent a transfer tool. For bugs on the shipping build, day-one news points at Discord https://discord.gg/SMkQeQRng and tells players to update to 1.0.3 before posting.
Playtest 4806470 dated 29 June 2026 is a third Steam identity on the PC ticket, not a continuation of 2506090, and Steam Cloud plus Family Sharing on app 1575990 do not document a demo-to-1.0.3 importer.
After the first punch
Once First Foe and First Floor Frolic are in, walk the toy list on Toy Arsenal instead of guessing DPS. The seven Steam names start with the whack-a mole mallet, which official stills show as a wooden star mallet, including a bloodied close-up in the elevator. The dart throwin’ Tommy Gun is the same family as the Ticklin’ Tommy Gun upgrade sold at the STATION kiosk. Tickets, Tickets, Tickets! is 99.6% at 100 tickets, so the booth is in the opening loop for almost everyone.
Then open Spectacles if you want the full 18-stamp wall, or Tower Floors if you are lost in Lightspeed Land versus “the hotel.” Unique paths per playthrough are a store promise; Charlotte’s Hero (8.7%) is the named finish of scaling the entire tower. Speedy Spree asks for under four hours at 5%. None of those are beginner holes. Keep this card at four stamps and move on.
Steam Cloud and Family Sharing are listed on app 1575990, so a second Windows login can resume the same cloud slot after the first four holes are punched, without treating 2506090 leftover saves as shipping progress.
Punch difficulty last so the card records a real menu choice, not a guess.
